Back in 1978 a VP of Nashua Corporation called us on a Saturday requesting we pick up his rental vehicle at his home.  Not a problem.   When we arrived he was working in his front yard.  He then said this was his first time renting from Budget.  He went on to say that he was with the company's President, on a golf course in Ireland, when out of the blue the President said to him, "Did you ever rent from Budget"?  The VP replied he had not.  The President then began to speak highly of this rental service in Nashua NH and how they offered such great service. So he tried us and he agreed!  I was in shock that the President of this worldwide company even knew about us. Not realizing he had personally used our service.  You see, vehicles were delivered blind to the company and we did not correlate the driver's name to his position at the time.  After the shock wore off came a great sense of pride.  It's not every day you get feedback like that!

I have not forgotten that moment in our history and remembering that scenario puts a smile on my face.  You see, our partners had already 24 years of experience between them in major airports, downtown, and local market rental operations.  We knew what great service was all about and vowed that our business would offer only the very best to our customers.
